Most lists of the best apps to quit weed are written by an app company that puts its own app first. This one is written by an app company too, so here's the disclosure up front: we make Solenna, one of the nine apps below.

To keep it fair, every fact about the other apps comes from their App Store page or their own website, and we link to it. Ratings are from the US App Store on October 12, 2026. We didn't list prices, because they change.

The honest answer is that there isn't one best app. There's the best app for what you need: something to count the days, a plan to follow, people who get it, or someone to talk to when a craving hits.

031. I Am Sober

I Am Sober has been on the App Store since 2013, and it's the most-rated sobriety app on this list by far. You set up what you're quitting (there's a dedicated marijuana community), make a pledge each morning, review the day at night, and watch the days, money and time add up. There's a journal, trigger analysis and a withdrawal timeline that users add to.

Good: free to use, a very large community, and a daily routine that's easy to keep. Worth knowing: it's built for every kind of habit, not weed in particular. No AI is advertised. Sober Plus is an optional subscription that adds private groups, app lock and backups. Best for: people who want a free daily routine and a lot of people around them.

042. Grounded

Grounded is one of the longest-running weed-only apps, on the App Store since 2019. You get a day counter with an oak tree that grows as you go, an urge tracker, a weed journal, a list of withdrawal symptoms showing when each tends to fade, money saved, and a tolerance-break mode. It also offers weekly AI-powered feedback on your progress.

Good: built only for weed, simple, and well established, with a timeline of what to expect. Worth knowing: the AI is weekly feedback, not a conversation. The free version can be upgraded to Grounded Plus. Best for: people who want an established weed-only tracker, or who are planning a tolerance break.

053. Quit Weed

Quit Weed is a weed-only tracker made by an independent developer. It counts your smoke-free time, money saved and sessions skipped, unlocks 30+ health badges based on your quit date, and walks you through the first six weeks in three phases. There's an SOS button for when a craving hits, and the app says its health information comes with sources you can open.

Good: clean, focused, and sourced, with a one-time purchase option for Pro. Worth knowing: the free version may show ads. There's no AI or human support. Best for: people who like milestones and a clear six-week map.

064. Clear30

Clear30 is built around a 30-day break from weed, with longer programs after day 30 and options to cut back or quit. Claire is a 24/7 AI coach, and a trained human peer coach texts with you directly. There's a craving button, guided craving meditations, daily check-ins, lessons and a community. Clear30 says its development is funded by the NIH, and NIH records list grants for a digital cannabis program led by its co-founder.

Good: both an AI coach and a real person, inside a structured plan. Worth knowing: it's a subscription app (free to try). It's built around a 30-day break first. Best for: people who want a plan, an AI coach and a person to text.

075. Sunflower

Sunflower supports every kind of addiction, weed included. Its AI sponsor, Sam, is available 24/7 in the app or by text message, alongside guided journaling, short courses, a community and free peer support groups led by a licensed counselor. A separate service, Sunflower Clinic, offers online therapy and medication in some states.

Good: an AI sponsor you can reach by plain text message, a community, and a route to clinical care if you want it. Worth knowing: it isn't built specifically for weed. Unlimited messaging with Sam needs a subscription. Best for: people quitting more than one substance who want an AI sponsor and a community.

086. Nomo

Nomo is a free app of sobriety clocks, made by one person in recovery and on the App Store since 2012. Weed isn't one of its named categories, but you can set up a custom clock for anything. Accountability partners you choose can be notified when you're tempted, and there are morning and evening check-ins, a journal and money saved.

Good: completely free on iPhone, simple, and built around people you trust. Worth knowing: no AI, and nothing weed-specific. Best for: tracking several habits for free with a few people in your corner.

097. Klar

Klar is a weed-only app from Berlin, launched in 2026. It's a structured 90-day journey with a sobriety tracker, a withdrawal monitor for sleep, clarity and cravings, a THC detox estimate, lessons, and craving tools like breathing exercises and a calming mini-game.

Good: a clear 90-day structure built only for weed. Worth knowing: after a free assessment, full access is a subscription. It has no community; Klar describes itself as a solo tool. It has only 14 US ratings so far. Best for: people who want a solo, structured program.

108. Forge

Forge is a newer iPhone app for quitting many things at once, from weed to vaping to gambling. It has a live streak clock, recovery mini-games, a personalized 90-day plan, an SOS mode and accountability partners. Its AI coach comes with Forge Pro.

Good: a gamified daily structure and an AI coach. Worth knowing: iPhone only, not built for weed in particular, and the AI coach is part of the paid tier. It has 8 US ratings so far. Best for: people quitting several habits who like games and streaks.

119. Solenna (ours)

Solenna is an AI companion for people walking away from weed. When a craving hits, you text her, or call her and talk out loud, at any hour. She remembers what you've told her between conversations: why you're stopping, what sets you off, how many days you're in, your last slip. She learns the hours that are hardest for you and checks in before them. A slip doesn't wipe the slate: day one again still remembers day twenty-three. There's also a jar: what you'd have spent on weed, saved toward something you choose.

Good: a conversation in the moment, with someone who already knows your story. Worth knowing: it isn't out yet; you can join the waitlist at solenna.app. You set the goal with her, whether that's stopping, cutting down or a tolerance break, and you can change it. Voice calls are part of a paid plan. It's a companion, not therapy. Best for: people quitting weed for whom the hard part is the moment itself.

12Newer apps worth knowing about

The App Store shelf for quitting weed filled up fast in 2025 and 2026. TBreak (306 US ratings) offers a structured program with meditations and a community. Defog is a newer weed-specific AI coach. Odessa runs a 30-day challenge. Most of the newest apps have only a handful of ratings so far, so they're harder to judge.

13How to choose

  • If the hard part is remembering why you started: a counter with reasons and pledges. I Am Sober or Grounded.

  • If you want a map: a program. Quit Weed's six weeks, Clear30's 30 days or Klar's 90 days.

  • If you want people: a community. I Am Sober, Sunflower, Grounded or Clear30.

  • If the hard part is the moment itself, late at night and alone: something you can talk to. Clear30, Sunflower, Forge Pro, or Solenna when it launches.

  • If you're quitting more than weed: Sunflower, I Am Sober, Nomo or Forge.

  • If you want a tolerance break, not to stop: Grounded's tolerance-break mode, Clear30, or Solenna when it launches (you set the goal with her).

14How we checked

Every fact about another app comes from its App Store page, its Google Play page or its own website, accessed on October 12, 2026. Ratings are US App Store averages and rating counts on that day. Features are as each company describes them; we didn't test every app ourselves. If something here is wrong or out of date, email us at hi@solenna.app and we'll fix it.

Some are. Nomo is free. I Am Sober, Grounded and Quit Weed are free to use, with optional paid upgrades. Clear30 and Klar are subscription apps after a free trial or assessment.
